Stumptown Lives is one transplant’s attempt to provide a moving, literary portrait of Portland, Oregon, in its current state of rapid growth and economic change.
In doing so, my intention is to consciously find myself at home, to redefine exactly what home is, and to explore the economic and social impacts of participating in Portland’s community, whether coming from my nomadic background, or that of a Bay Area refugee.
Much as I am a participant in this new story, Stumptown Lives/Lives (you choose) is about others’ stories: what we do to each other, and why.
